Hosted by the American Diabetes Association, the 2014 Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes comes to Portland again in a few weeks. This signature fundraising event has been running for more than 20 years during which it has raised millions of dollars toward research to stop diabetes.
Like similar walking and running fundraising events, walkers have the opportunity to raise individual funds toward helping the Association to stop diabetes. The event helps participants with fundraising via their own webpage and outreach tips and resources to help walkers make the most of their participation in the event.
If you’re one to attend events with friends, the association makes it easy to create a fundraising team for you and your pals, or join an existing team to meet new friends who share the common goal of helping in the fight against diabetes. If you prefer also, you can register as a single walker or simply donate to the cause if your schedule is already booked.
Look for this to be a bustling, busy event as it’s sure to draw lots of participants and supporters. In addition, you’ll find include music, snacks, activities, and displays at the American Diabetes Association Expo directly following the walk from 10am – 4pm.
