Boones Ferry Fun Run
I love running, I love my kids, and I love their school. So I love that for the past four years I have had the privilege to be a co-organizer of the Boones Ferry Primary School 5k Fun Run that takes place in conjunction with the school’s Annual Fun Run fundraiser.
The annual Fun Run is the school’s biggest fundraiser. During the weeks leading up to the event, students collect money donations from their family and friends. On Fun Run Day, the classes take turns running laps on the running track, logging an average of four to six laps during their 15 minute run time. Afterwards they enjoy a bottle of water, apple slices and bananas.

5k running route
It seemed only logical to add a run for the adults as well, so during the school lunch hour the adults run their 5k. The run starts on the running track, and it is an out-and back course through Graham Oaks Nature Park. The paved Tonquin Trail winds through oak savanna, and on a clear day you will get a good look at Mt Hood. The terrain is rolling, and there is a water station around the half way point.
Each participant will receive a Sport Tek event shirt and a goodie bag. Prizes are awarded to the top finisher, and every participant has a chance to win a raffle item.
