Can we just rename Oregon “the land of many beers”? I feel like most of my Pacific Northwestern life has revolved around the strange brew and I haven’t even been legally able to drink for all too long. My most favorite is when running and beer (maybe not in that order) are able to come together.
Enter the Brews Cruise 5k on Monday, September 1 (Labor Day) at high noon in Eugene, OR. The race will get started at Hop Valley Brewing Co. and if you’re really nice, I think they will give you some beer. Chances are looking good. Wait….nope… yep… it’s confirmed – participants of legal drinking age will be treated to a complementary pint.
Looks like the course will be fairly simple and takes you through the surrounding neighborhoods, which is always a personal favorite, appraise the houses, gawk at the neighbors, try to drink a beer while you run (last one is not advised and probably not allowed).
The post race celebration will include the aforementioned free pint, some great food from Sporks A La Cart and Great Harvest Bread Co. Did I mention that the race doesn’t start until noon?? Sleep in!!!
Packet pickup is the day prior to the race, Sunday, August 31 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Sports Authority in Eugene and right before the race from 10:30-11:45 p.m.
Beer, running, food. The holy trinity.
