X-Dog events is known for putting on running events that are unlike most others. It’s much less about getting a new PR and finishing as fast as possible, but more about having a great time and making a day of it. McCubbin’s Gulch Scramble is no different.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday, July 20th at the McCubbin’s Gulch Recreation Area on Mt Hood. The route will be about 5-6 miles long and have lots of natural obstacles. Past years’ top finishers have come in at around 45 minutes, some people have spent close to two hours on the course. If you are unsure what to expect, flip through the 2013 event photo album.
Not only will there be an epic after party, participants are also invited and encouraged to camp (for free) on Saturday night and bring a dish to share at the Saturday evening potluck campfire. And I can only imagine what the “creek streak” in the dark will be.
Registration for the event is $25 (will increase to $30 “later” according to the registration website), and you can choose to buy an event t-shirt for $15.
