Race Preview: Cosmo 7k All-Ladies Run (Vancouver, WA)

Energy Events’ Cosmo 7k All-Ladies Run will take place on Saturday, August 9th. With its 6pm start time and Cosmo-garden after-party this run is sure to be a good time!

The run starts and finishes at Ft Vancouver, Washington. There is parking close-in if you arrive early, and plenty of parking less than half a mile away if you’re a little later. The vendor fair before and after takes place on the lawn of the OO Howard House on Anderson street.

The course is on closed streets and follows a loop through downtown Vancouver and along the Columbia River. Runners first exit Ft Vancouver and cross over I-5 on 8th into the downtown area. Turning left onto Columbia St will take us downhill towards the river. Miles 2 and 3 run out and back on walking paths along the Columbia. If it is as hot as it was last year, the breeze off the river will bring some relief. The final mile leads under the railroad tracks, then over the walk/bike overpass over Hwy 14 and through Ft Vancouver, up a final hill towards the finish line.

The after-party promises to be excellent again. Last year there were several vendors with goodies and snacks to choose from, and the free Cosmo was delicious! This year’s race announcement includes the promise that there will be 3 or 4 different flavors of Cosmo to choose from. The vodka sponsor is Three Olives, which offers a variety of flavors itself.
