The only thing that can make a beautiful day at the beach even better is some colored powder for throwing in the Holi Tradition. On Sunday, June 8 at Nye Beach, people of all walks will converge on the Nye Beach Turnaround (Newport, OR.) for the Chakra Blast!
The Chakra Blast is a non-competive and non-timed 5k with DJ Day Job and is put on by Coast Hill Events. The course will be 3.1 miles and there will be color stations along the way to shower runners with colored powder and there will be music along the way as well.
Race fees are $40 for a regular entry, $20 for those 13 and younger, and free for children 5 years old and younger with a paying adult.
Registration is open through the day of the event, Sunday, June 8 at 1 p.m., race starts at 1:30 p.m. Bib pick-up opens at noon at the Nye Beach Turnaround.
This sounds like a great event for those that want to get rowdy and run along the beach and soak it all in, color powder included!
