Race Preview: Capital City Marathon

The Capital City Marathon in Olympia, Washington will be held on May 18, 2014. Besides the marathon, there is a half marathon, 5 miler and a kids’ run  – something for everyone.  The marathon is certified as a Boston Qualifier and even provides a variety of pacers.

This event, put on by the Capital City Marathon Association, is 100% volunteer run and committed to giving back to the community and promoting healthy living and community involvement.  Money raised at this race helps provide grants to support local high school running and other student athletes.

GU Gel and plenty of water stops are available on the course. Expect rolling hills along this beautiful chip-timed Olympia course.  No day of race registration is available for this race, so be sure to plan ahead and register soon!

Times: Marathon, 7:00 A.M.      Half Marathon, 7:45 A.M.      5 Miler, 8:00 A.M.

Location: Washington Street between Legion Way and 7th Avenue,  Olympia, Washington

Please note: Kids’ Race is on Saturday, May 17 at 4:00 P.M. at Heritage Park

Registration Fees*:  Marathon = $90     Half Marathon = $85     5 Miler = $40   Kids’ Run = $10  *Registration fees increase on May 12
