The 5th annual Team Up for Students 5K will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Echo Shaw Elementary School in Cornelius. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Witch Hazel Elementary students and will be used to purchase student supplies and classroom materials. May 13th has two races in Washington and Marion Counties that raise money for great local causes. If you are looking to make the most of your race entries, consider checking these out. The third annual TEAM UP for Students 5K comes back to the small town of Cornelius (between Forest Grove and Hillsboro in Washington County). The TEAM UP for Students! 5K Run (and walk) is an annual benefit race to raise funds to support schools in Washington County. This year’s beneficiary (as chosen by the race sponsor, Washington County Educators) will be W.L. Henry Elementary School in Hillsboro, and the staff there “will choose how best to use the proceeds from this event to support students in the school year 2016/17.”
This is a race for those of you with little ones at home that have a hard time finding a sitter so you can get to morning races. That’s because the Team Up for Students 5k is offering free child care for kiddos age 1-4 during the event! In addition, this is a great low-cost event.
