Last year, for the first time, the Turkeython expanded from one location to three. That worked out so well that in 2017, the Turkeython spawned three more locations, bringing it to a total of six: Tualatin (Bridgeport Village); downtown Portland; Clackamas (Clackamas Town Center); Vancouver, WA (Big Al’s); Hillsboro (Liberty High School); and Yoncalla. Uberthons has been staging the Turkeython every year this decade now, and starting last year, in more than one location. Location is everything, and it is always nice to see an event being run in a unique place. Part of the new Hood to Coast Race Series, the Veteran’s Day 5K can definitely make the claim of having a interesting location. The course runs within the boundaries of Camp Withycombe in Clackamas. This is a National Guard camp that has many uses, and the course makes two loops around it.
