October gets off to a busy start, with the first weekend bringing a pretty good mix of Oregon racing. You’ve got everything from local 5Ks and family-friendly runs to trail races, a 71-mile relay, and the Portland Marathon. There’s also plenty of variety in the scenery, from the coast at Yachats to Central Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge.
It’s a nice way to kick off the month, especially if Oregon gives us one of those crisp, cool fall weekends that runners dream about. Of course, this is Oregon, so keep an eye on the forecast and maybe have that rain jacket ready just in case.
