We have really been on the Diadora train over the last few years. Their Gara Carbon line has been one we’ve reached for on speed days, while several of their daily trainers have held their own against some of the biggest names in running.
Now, we’re checking out a couple of their summer apparel options just as Oregon temperatures are approaching their annual peak. The Italian sportswear brand has put together a lineup engineered for exactly these conditions—heat, humidity, and long miles.

Now, here’s a disclaimer that applies to most of our apparel reviews: it’s pretty hard to mess up a pair of shorts and a running tank. Sure, it’s possible—sizing can be off, a liner can chafe, or fabrics can feel uncomfortable—but for the most part, multi-million-dollar companies have figured out the basics. Because of that, our apparel coverage tends to be less of a traditional review and more of an informational look at what makes each piece stand out.
Stratouno Tank
The Stratouno Tank is simple on the surface, available in three colorways, but there’s quite a bit going on behind the scenes. It’s completely seamless and built with a single-layer construction, which keeps potential hot spots and chafing to an absolute minimum. I certainly didn’t experience any during testing.
The tank is built with Diadora’s Stratouno fabric technology, which uses hollow polypropylene fibers designed specifically for warm-weather running. Those hollow fibers trap a thin layer of air next to your skin, creating a microclimate that helps regulate body temperature. In cooler moments they provide a touch of insulation, while in the heat they quickly move moisture away from the body so sweat can evaporate faster.
The result is a tank that feels surprisingly dry even as temperatures climb. It also feels super soft to the touch – making it a perfect transition piece to the pool as well!
Super Light Fibrazero Shorts
The Super Light Fibrazero Shorts also feature some unique fabric technology, this time thanks to a Fibrazero “nanopore” yarn that’s partially derived from recycled coffee grounds. Beyond being a fun conversation starter, the coffee-infused fibers are designed to speed up sweat evaporation, improve breathability, and naturally resist odors.
The microscopic pores in the yarn increase the surface area available for moisture to spread across, allowing sweat to evaporate more quickly and helping keep the skin drier during harder efforts.
The 5-inch shorts come in three muted colorways and definitely live up to their name. The attached brief does exactly what it’s supposed to, while the higher leg cut and perforated side panels help shave weight and improve airflow.
And for such a lightweight pair of shorts, the storage is impressive. There’s a zippered rear pocket for valuables along with two expandable side pockets that easily accommodate a gel or other small essentials.
As we mentioned at the top, apparel reviews aren’t usually about reinventing the wheel. The basics matter, and Diadora gets those right here. Both pieces are lightweight, comfortable, and disappeared into the background on the run—which is about the best compliment you can give running apparel.
