For years, Janji has steadily built a reputation for blending adventure-ready design with genuinely thoughtful run functionality. Their latest launch, the new Race Division collection arrived May 12, feels like the brand taking an even bigger swing at the ultra-distance race scene — introducing what may be their most performance-focused system to date.

Race Division Collection
At the center of the collection is Janji’s new “gossamer” fabric, an ultralight, highly breathable knit engineered to disappear on the run while still managing moisture and airflow during long efforts in difficult conditions. The goal here is simple: reduce distractions, maximize comfort, and allow runners to move efficiently for hours at a time.
Rather than focusing on just a single hero piece, the Race Division lineup is designed as a complete race-day kit. Across the collection, Janji emphasizes high-stretch materials, chafe-resistant construction, and integrated storage systems that let runners carry essential gear without sacrificing comfort or pace.
4” Pinnacle R.D. Short 2-in-1
One of the standout pieces is the Men’s 4” Pinnacle R.D. Short 2-in-1. Built specifically for self-supported ultra efforts, the short combines a lightweight perforated shell with a supportive boxer brief liner designed to minimize movement and irritation over long distances.
The real attention-grabber, though, is the waistband storage system. With six bounce-resistant pockets capable of carrying up to 2.5 liters of gear, the setup is designed to accommodate soft flasks, nutrition, and other essentials without the need for an additional vest on shorter or more streamlined efforts. Seriously, there’s a ton of stretchy space here – and coupling it with small buttons to keep from bouncing is a nice addition.
Combined with four-way stretch fabric, abrasion resistance, and bungee storage loops, the Pinnacle R.D. short leans heavily into the growing trend of high-capacity race apparel.
Pinnacle R.D. “Gossamer” Singlet
The new Gossamer Singlet takes a minimalist approach. It has the same vision as the shorts – but really strips things down. Using an ultralight gauze-like knit polyester, the singlet prioritizes breathability and moisture management for hot-weather racing and high-output efforts.
Bonded seams aim to reduce friction, while the cropped silhouette helps keep movement unrestricted during faster efforts or long climbs. The entire concept feels rooted in removing as many barriers between runner and movement as possible.
It’s pretty comfortable as well – feeling more like a cotton option against my skin – but with way-better-than-cotton functionality.
As ultra racing continues evolving toward lighter, faster, and more self-sufficient setups, Janji’s Race Division collection feels very much aligned with where the sport is heading.
The emphasis on integrated storage, lightweight layering, and long-haul comfort suggests this is more than just another seasonal apparel launch — it’s a purpose-built system for runners spending serious time on trail and road alike.
