The iconic Bridge to Brews returned in 2024 and, after running the 2025 event, we couldn’t have been more excited for this year’s event. Times change, and while we were a little sad to see the famed Fremont course retire, it made sense. That said, we’re thrilled that the race stayed true to its name and location—meaning more time on bridges in the Bridge City than ever.
Here’s everything you need to know to lace up your shoes and mark your calendar for one of Portland’s favorite spring races.
The Course
The “bridge” in Bridge to Brews isn’t just for show. Starting at Waterfront Park and weaving through downtown, this year’s route of the 10k and 8k takes you over four bridges: Steel, Broadway, Morrison, and Hawthorne. Each offers sweeping views of the city—so yes, that’s a perfectly valid excuse to pause for a photo. The 5k will take runners only over the first two.
The course has a 15:00 minute per mile limit, mainly so the roads can reopen smoothly. That pace gives most runners plenty of breathing room, and for those who push it, prizes await the top three male and female overall finishers.
New Option
For those who want to add a little extra challenge (and fun), there’s a 2- or 4-person BEV mile. It’s simple: four beverages, four laps, one mile.
Important note: This is not a sanctioned beer mile—the OLCC doesn’t allow that—so you get to choose whether you want to go with beer or a non-alcoholic option. The BEV mile kicks off at 11 a.m., so you can even do both the main race and the BEV mile if you’re feeling ambitious. Your registration covers your beverages, timing, and four finisher medals.
The Brews
Post-race, the fun keeps flowing with a hosted beer and cider tasting on the waterfront. Runners get a free beverage, but the festival is open to everyone. Sip on some of Portland’s finest brews while enjoying music, games, food, and goodies from local vendors.
The Medals
One of the standout new features at Bridge to Brews is the finisher medals. Introduced last year, they kicked off a fresh series designed to celebrate your accomplishment on its own and as part of a bigger picture.
Each medal looks great on its own, but the real magic happens when you collect them year after year—each one links together to form a visual representation of the full course and all the bridges you’ve crossed. Each distance has a unique color, so you could even run different distances on each year and still be able to have a fun connection.
Even if this is your first year, it’s not too late to start your medal series—consider it a multi-year challenge you’ll actually want to complete.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just in it for the fun, Bridge to Brews delivers a perfect mix of fitness, flavors, and Portland energy. Don’t miss out on this spring tradition—it’s back, and it’s better than ever!
