Vine and Dandy: The Legacy Estate All Hills Run

A new race is coming to the Mid Valley and Willamette Valley Road Runners scene on April 19th: the Legacy Estates “All Hills”. Salem-area runners may recognize the name from the Legacy Estates No Hills run each November at an Eola Hills winery location in Rickreall. This new spring event is the sister race—but instead of avoiding hills, you get all the hills. If you’ve run in the Willamette Valley vineyards before, you know there’s no escaping them.

This race takes place at one of my favorite vineyard locations in wine country. The area is usually quiet, with solid views and a relaxed vibe. In summer, the location often hosts live music, but during the race you’ll get the full experience while testing your legs on the rolling terrain.

While running through vineyards can be tricky—Fueled by Fine Wine and Run for Oaks have shown us that grape rows are not always runner-friendly—the All Hills courses run on vineyard roads only, so you won’t have to dodge vines or gopher holes.

For those looking for a unique hydration station – there’s a Wine Aid Station at the top of the hill for the 7K and 3K runners, featuring sparkling cider, water, and Mortal Hydration.

Start Times

  • 7K – 9:00 AM
  • 3K – 10:30 AM
  • 1-Mile – 11:15 AM

Want to race hard and then enjoy family time? Tackle the 7K or 3K, then join the 1-Mile with the kids. Racers must finish their event before the next race begins.

Runner Swag & Post-Race Fun

Every participant receives:

  • A custom wine glass and a glass of wine at the finish
  • A custom buff featuring course maps and elevation profiles
  • Hot and cold post-race treats to refuel and celebrate
  • Prepackaged small charcuterie plates

Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just looking for a fun spring run with views, the Legacy Estates “All Hills” promises a challenging yet scenic experience for all.
