Maybe it’s the fact that I’m a father, or maybe it’s finally realizing I should start becoming an “adult,” but over the past few years I’ve started to care more about my grooming products. I don’t—and can’t—commit too much time to it. A full-time job, three young kids, a blog to manage, and a running habit leave my “free time” pretty limited. Every minute is spoken for.
That’s why it’s helpful to know what’s out there when it comes to skincare. Having a simple, reliable routine—and being at least somewhat knowledgeable about what you’re putting on your skin—goes a long way.
I’ve also found myself gravitating toward more eco-friendly and natural options. That tracks with broader trends, too. The men’s skincare market continues to grow as more men look for sustainable materials and greener formulations. With that in mind, checking out some face care products from Setú Skincare felt like a good place to start.
It’s also worth acknowledging up front that men’s skincare can vary widely in price. In my experience, more thoughtfully made, less mass-produced products tend to cost a bit more than your run-of-the-mill options—and that kind of investment isn’t for everyone.
At $25 per individual product, Setú will likely push the upper edge of where many men feel comfortable spending on skincare. That said, the price starts to make more sense when you consider the benefits of supporting a smaller company. And if you opt for one of their bundles, you’ll save a bit in the process.
From their website:
Setú is a modern men’s personal care brand that combines the power of science with the richness of Latin America’s natural ingredients. Rooted in authenticity and culture, Setú redefines skincare with expertly crafted formulations by a board-certified Latina dermatologist, celebrating the region’s vibrant heritage.
The ingredient list leans heavily into natural components sourced from Latin America, including:
- Moringa
- Yerba Mate
- Camu Camu
- Sarsaparilla Root
- Açaí
- Maca Root
- Guaraná
- Suma Root
- Achiote (Annatto)
After using the products during the testing phase, I honestly don’t have anything negative to report.
At the end of the day, Setú Skincare feels well thought out and intentionally made. It’s not trying to be flashy or overcomplicated, and that works in its favor. The products were easy to use, fit naturally into an already busy routine, and held up well alongside regular training, sweat, and time spent outdoors.
The price point won’t be for everyone, but for those looking to step up from basic, mass-produced options—especially with an interest in natural ingredients and smaller brands—Setú is worth a look. For me, it checked the boxes of simplicity, quality, and reliability, which is really all I’m looking for in a daily skincare routine.
