Coastal Running at the Battle to the Pacific Trail Runs

Running at the coast is the BEST. There’s something about the air out there that makes you feel alive. Lucky for us, the 2025 Battle to the Pacific Trail Runs is coming up soon. There’s a half marathon, a quarter marathon, a 5k, and a 12 Mile Ruck Challenge in store for us!

This race, brought to us by Bivouac Racing, is on November 15th and it takes place at Fort Stevens State Park. There is a $5 daily park permit (per vehicle) so please plan to bring cash or check for the Fee Envelope at the Hilltop Day-Use Area when you park.

The 12 Mile Ruck Challenge is new this year and will start off the day at 9:00AM. The ¼ and ½ marathon will follow at 9:15AM, and the 5k takes off last at 9:30AM. All race courses will start and end at the N. Coffenbury Lake Day-Use Area.

The ½ marathon consists of 3 loops: The outer loop, the inner loop, and the lake loop. The ¼ marathon follows the inner loop and the loop around the lake. The 5k follows the lake loop only and the 12 Mile Ruck Challenge is a US Army ruck march in which participants will have 3 hours to complete 12 miles with a 35-pound pack. You can read more about the courses on the website.

Please note that all of Bivouac Racing events are cupless, so please bring your own drinking vessel. There will be 2 aid stations.

After the race, there will be food and beer, and all finishers will receive a Bivouac Racing winners’ mug and a chance to win some cool swag.
