Climb to Great Heights with the 2025 Mt. Ashland Trail Runs

If it’s both beauty and challenge you seek, look no further than the 2025 Mt. Ashland Trail Run on September 13th, 2025. This is your chance to summit the tallest mountain in the Siskiyou range – maybe even more than once if you’re up to it.

All three of the events for the Mt. Ashland Trail Run start and end at the Mt Ashland Ski Area. Runners can choose between the Half Marathon, the “Half +,” and/or the Summit Challenge.

The Half Marathon, which takes Upper Bull Gap Trail to Bull Gap before the descent, will be a challenging trek at 2,315 feet of vert over 13.3 miles total. The Bull Gap Aid Station will be available twice, at miles 2.3 and 10.9. This event will start at 8:00AM on race day and you can view the route on Strava here.

The Summit Challenge has runners climbing nearly 1,000 feet over the course of the first mile up the Mt. Ashland Summit Trail to the top of Mt. Ashland before descending the “back bowls.” You can run 1 lap, 2 laps, or 3 laps, and each lap is just shy of 4 miles long. Check out the Strava deets here. This event will take off at 8:30AM.

And finally, if runners just have to take it all on, there’s the option for the “Half +” which will follow both the Half course and 1 lap of the Summit Challenge. The milage will be about 17.2 miles total with 3,236 feet of climbing. In addition to the aid stations at Bull Gap, there will be fluid-only aid station at miles 13.3 (the lodge,) and 14.2 (the summit.)

All runners will receive one commemorative item at the finish (you’ll have to wait and see!) as well as a finisher’s medal. There are also shirts and other items available as add-ons.

There will be a post-race party with some refreshments and the inaugural Mt. Ashland Oktoberfest will be in full swing as well!
