Running in a Masterpiece: The Painted Hills Half

The Painted Hills Half Marathon (plus 5K and 10K) is part of the small town of Mitchell’s Painted Hills Festival. All happening on Saturday, August 30, there’s also a quilt show, parade, pie action, vendor booths, and live music, it’s the epitome of summer in Central Oregon.

This is an incredibly unique race that Run Oregon highly recommends. It’s a very small race with an incredibly supportive vibe and beautiful views of the Painted Hills.

Bucket List Race Alert! The Painted Hills Half Marathon (10k & 5k)

This is a point-to-point race with bib pickup at 7 AM and a shuttle bus to drop you off. It’s a gorgeous climb out of the Painted Hills as you make your way back to Mitchell.

Also, consider staying at the Spoke’n Hostel – a unique and fun experience!

Our editor-in-chief personally recommends checking out Tiger Town Brewery in Mitchell; and as someone who has visited over 800 breweries in his adventures, that’s a tall order!

Register here for a memorable weekend in Mitchell (*pst*, it’s only $35 through 8/22!)
