The South Coast Running Club’s Sunset Bay Trail Run is just a few weeks away on Saturday, August 23 in Charleston, OR.
The 4-mile, 15K, and half marathon distances are just $25 each! The race directors have focused on the experience instead of swag to keep entry costs cheap, though race shirts will be available for purchase and there will be prize giveaways that are donated by local businesses. This race will deliver on memories, though:
“Seriously, this race has it all, killer hills through the woods, and an amazing flat cliff section where you’ll see sea lions, rocks, the deep blue sea, and if you’re very lucky, a passing whale.”
Participants are warned that this is a tough course and they should be wise in preparing for the trails. For those not up for the challenge but want some beach running anyway, there is a free 1-mile Beach Fun Run. (Please note there is no cell service at Sunset Bay). Course maps can be found here:
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Marshfield High School Track and Cross Country Team.
