We know Oregon has majestic mountains, beautiful beaches, cool cities – and we probably all know and love our pockets of wine country by now, too. Summer is the best time for a run in wine country, for obvious reasons, and coming up on July 20th is the Wine Country Trail Runs by Northwest Dirt Churners.
Check out our recap of the inaugural event here!

Out near Gaston, OR, choose between a 5K, 10K, or half marathon at Chehalem Ridge Nature Park – a former 1260-acre Douglas Fir tree farm taking runners through the gorgeous trees on pea gravel and dirt trails along the Tualatin River with views of the Cascades, Coast Range, and the valley.

Northwest Dirt Churners recognizes that the trails in Chehalem Ridge Nature Park run through the traditional lands of the Chehalem and the Atfalati people (also known as the Tualatin Kalapuya). We thank these indigenous tribes and their descendants for being these spaces’ original and continuing stewards.
This race is open to all levels and the park will be open to all users during the race, including mountain bikes and horses (sorry, no dogs or other pets allowed in the park).

The half marathon will begin at 9:00AM and will have 2 aid stations. The 10k will have one aid station available and will begin at 9:30 and the 5K will start at 10:00am. There will not be an aid station in the 5K distance.
Northwest Dirt Churners is proud to offer an adaptive trail race of the 10K distance as well. Adaptive racers will begin at 8:45am.

All participants will get stemless wine glasses at the finish line, as well as food (including vegan options) from ETA. Racers who are 21+ can sample some wine from Ardiri Winery and Vineyards as well!
You can read more about the event, including course maps, elevation profiles, and a peek at the trails through a video on the adaptive racing on the website here.
