Mount Up for the Wy’East Wonder

There’s still time – and spots available! – for you to jump into Wy’East Wonder by the fantastic Go Beyond Racing! It’s coming up quickly on June 28th but it’s an incredibly scenic 50M / 50K.

The Wy’east Wonder is a point-to point course and the majority of it takes on two ridges along Mt. Hood: Gunsight Ridge and Surveyor’s Ridge. The 50-Miler has about 7,600’ of elevation gain and a descent-lover’s dream of 10,600’ of loss. The 50k, has about 4,300’ of gain and 7,200’ of loss.

The 50-Miler will begin at 6:00AM and the 50k starts at 8:00AM, both from the Bennett Pass Sno Park in Parkdale, however, there is no parking here and catching the shuttle at Red Barn Park is required.

You can read more about the course maps, cutoffs, crew access, drop bags, etc on their website.

As usual, Go Beyond encourages carpooling, so feel free to check out this Google spreadsheet to find or give a ride. You can earn $$ and a $5 gift card from Nossa Familia Coffee if you carpool!

After the race, head back to the Red Barn Park and you’ll find burritos, Cascade Lakes Brewing beer, AVID hard cider, water, and chocolate milk! Wash your beverage down with a Wy’east Wonder pint glass, which will be awarded to all participants. There will also be raffle prizes, so make sure you check the raffle prize board before you leave.
