Over the years, I’ve sought out many sun coverage options— apparel with sun coverage, hats worn religiously, and, of course, plenty of sunscreen. My dad had melanoma, and that experience made sun protection something I take seriously. I’ve never really liked the feel of sunscreen, but some things you just have to deal with.
I was recently sent some sunscreen from Melan, a brand I hadn’t tried before. They offer a variety of products, but I really took to their SPF 30 spray—both literally and figuratively. It comes in an aerosol-free canister, which already sets it apart from many traditional sprays.
But it also goes beyond just protection. It includes aloe vera and green tea, two ingredients that help nourish the skin while guarding against the sun.

What stood out most is that it’s non-greasy—an absolute must for me—and noticeably free from a lot of the filler ingredients that tend to show up in sunscreen. Melan’s focus on sun protection, skin health, and keeping things simple really comes through in the product.
Given the logo and company name, I was half-expecting a watermelon-scented experience, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case. The scent is light, clean, and refreshingly neutral.
Melan’s sunscreens are available on their website, with the SPF 30 spray priced at $24.00.
