Guac & Roll at Portland’s Cinco de Mayo Races

Runners love to party too, and that’s why  the 2025 Cinco de Mayo races exist! This race, which will fall on May 4th  this year, will take runners from Sellwood Riverfront Park in Portland all along the Springwater Corridor Trail and back.

This event will kick off at 8:45AM with a Kids Fun Run. At 9:00AM, the half marathon will take off. The 10k will leave at 9:30AM and the 5k will be the last race to start at 9:45AM. The half marathon has a cutoff time of 4 hours, so the course should be cleared by 1:00PM.

There will be aid stations every 2 to 3 miles for the half and there are 2 aid stations total for the 10k. Sorry, there will not be an aid station for the 5k, though first aid supplies and water will be available at the start/finish area. Runners can stock up on water, sports drink, GU gels, and gummy bear chews at the aid stations and there will also be toilets.

There will be a gear check option for all runners at the start. Race directors are asking that you bring your own bag for your belongings to reduce waste. You’ll get a wrist band to label your bag with your bib number and will need it when you drop off and pick up your bag.

The course will be along city roads and sidewalks, and though there will be volunteers at many road crossings, all participants should be aware of their surroundings and do their best to stay safe and follow all traffic laws. Check out the course maps on the website.

Runners receive a finisher shirt, medal, and delicious quesadillas at the finish! There will be awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. There will also be age group awards.
