Embrace the Wilderness: Previewing the Run With The Wild 5K in Hood River

Looking for a fun, community oriented, family and dog friendly event? Head out to Hood River for the Run With The Wild 10k & 5K, a scenic run/walk event that sees 100% of event proceeds go to support the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. For those interested, there will also be a silent auction and an event drawing, featuring local PNW prizes.

The race offers both a 5k and 10k run/walk, perfect for participants of all ages, families, and even those bringing their dogs along! The course winds its way along the Historic Columbia River Highway Trail, providing stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge throughout the entire route. Known for its scenic beauty and tranquil atmosphere, this location is a beloved spot among locals.

As you run or walk, you’ll enjoy sweeping vistas of the river and surrounding gorge, creating a truly memorable experience. The race follows an out-and-back format, starting from the trailhead.

The course is easy, with a gentle incline that offers a total ascent between 115 to 200 feet. It’s mainly flat, with a non-technical paved path and a gentle grade, making it accessible for participants of all levels.
