Sole Searching: Putting Superfeet to the Test

Since Q4 of 2024, I have been nursing some foot pain. I haven’t had foot issues in a while, but have historically had some flare ups of Plantar Fasciitis over the years. I have high arches and have gone between insoles over the years, but this has gone by the wayside over time and I have been lucky enough to mostly avoid injury. But it is happening more frequently and thus, we have been pleased to be putting some insoles from Superfeet and have been putting them to the test.

As I move further into Q1 of 2025, I’m noticing that my feet are feeling better. However, I’m still relying on my Superfeet insoles. While these insoles are often known for their role in recovering from or preventing injuries, I’ve started to realize that they’re equally beneficial for my day-to-day running.

As someone who tests a lot of running shoes (and even if you don’t), I’ve come to appreciate the value of consistency and structure. When you feel locked in and have the right gear, you set yourself up for improvement and consistent performance. It’s similar to why so many NBA players wear compression sleeves or leggings during games. Sure, those might help with recovery or injury prevention, but they also provide optimal support and comfort to perform at their best.

That’s exactly why I’m sticking with Superfeet. Recently, I tried the Run Support (for high arches) and the Run Cushion (designed for medium arches). While these models cater to different foot and arch shapes, they share some common features, such as a MoistureWick top layer to help keep odors at bay.

Run Support

  • Heel Design: Features a deeper heel cup for enhanced shock absorption.
  • Cushioning: Equipped with Aerospring Rebound, a dual-layer foam that offers cushioning and rebounding capabilities.
  • Includes a carbon fiber and polymer blend to assist with compression and quick spring-back into shape.

Run Cushion

  • Heel Design: Provides a more energizing and cushioned heel for a responsive feel.
  • Cushioning: Utilizes Aerolyte foam, designed to allow the foot to compress and relax naturally.
  • Features a patented design to help align feet biometrically in the correct position.

Superfeet insoles have proven to be a reliable solution for both comfort and performance, offering the support my high arches need to stay pain-free. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or looking to optimize your daily runs, they’re worth stepping into.
