We all have holiday traditions, and one of mine has become doing the PRC Winter 5k Race Series. This event, brought to us by Run With Paula Events, is a low-key, fun way to get through the winter with three 5k races over the three months of December, January, and February.
Each of the three 5ks take place at Portland Running Company in Beaverton, and all follow the same out-and-back route through the surrounding neighborhood streets and the Fanno Creek trail. It’s a fun way to see how your times vary each month and possibly to challenge yourself to beat your previous PR.
After each race, you have the opportunity to come hang out at the store and grab some food and coffee while waiting to see if you’ve won a raffle prize. It’s always a great event and I’m considering bringing my 12 year old to one this season, as the 9:00AM start time is more appealing than some of the earlier races.
Each race costs $39 each and if you register for all three, you can save 10%. If you’re looking for extra motivation to get out of a warm bed to hang out with some fun folks on a Saturday, this could be it!!
