Velocio is a company deeply rooted in the cycling world, making it a natural fit for our Bike Oregon series, as we gradually return to covering cycling content. While Velocio aligns well with the parameters of this feature, a few of their products may surprise you with their simple, active Pacific Northwest aesthetic and functionality.

We recently tested the Trail Access Pants from their MTB Off-Road Line, which not only work well for cycling days but are also perfectly suited for Oregon’s fall outdoor season.
These pants are designed with the mountain biking community in mind, built for strength and durability. While I’ll touch on those aspects, it’s clear that you don’t have to be a mountain biker to appreciate their value. They’re a perfect option for a variety of hikes and can even transition decently well from trail to table as casual wear.
The key feature here is durability. Constructed from Italian-milled Cordura fabric, these pants combine premium materials in a lightweight yet tough design, offering year-round protection. Reinforced in key areas like the knees, seat, and lower legs, they provide double the durability where it’s needed most. Thanks to a DWR treatment, they are water-resistant—essential for the many wet months in the Pacific Northwest.
The fit is slightly slimmer – mostly in the lower legs – but not super restrictive. There is some small tightness in the crotch area, but that’s better than being too baggy – and the snugness wasn’t uncomfortable.
When I first tried these pants on, I felt some snugness around the calves as well and thought they might be impossible to button. However, that wasn’t the case at all—the waist fits true to size, making them surprisingly comfortable despite the initial tightness in the calves.
Despite the tough exterior, the material feels soft, and the cut of the pants is spot-on. They’re ideal for cool to cold weather riding, but anything above 60 degrees might feel a bit too warm.
