If you are a fan of endurance races, check out the annual Dia de los Muertos Endurance Run in Newport. This race has 48 hour, 24 hour, 12 hour, and 6 hour options. This race is meant to honor loved ones who have passed, as is the tradition of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). At this event, you are encouraged to bring an item, like a picture, that is a memory of your loved one for the Ofrenda. Ofrendas are traditionally set up during this holiday to remember and honor ancestors.
This run is in celebration of the lives of those who have passed and includes music, art, and fun. Anyone who completes 50 or 100 miles will receive a belt buckle. Anyone who runs at least 11 loops (~marathon distance) will receive a medal.

The race will be held at the South Beach State Park in Newport which is located south of the Yaquina Bay Bridge. There will be free parking in the Day Use Parking lot. Please don’t park at the Nice Hole Disc Golf Course, as it’s not permitted.
Experience a sense of community and tradition at the Oregon Coast this October and register for Ardor Adventures’ Dia de los Muerto Night Run.
