Run Wild at the Pacific Northwest Marathon

Flat. Fast. Two words that are music to many runner’s ears! The 2024 Pacific Northwest Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k is often a runner’s last chance to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon, and roughly 20% of event participants qualify with this race! The course is USATF certified event and it starts at about 400 feet and drops gradually to 325. WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN ALL OF THIS?!

This year, the Pacific Northwest Marathon (PNWM) will take place in Harrisburg on Saturday, September 21st, 2024. The mission of the PNWM is to promote community health and fitness. The race directors are active in the community promoting health and fitness, offering a marathon training group, and following the story of five women who are sharing their journey to the start line. This event is walker friendly, too – everyone, fast, slow, young, old – you are all welcome at the start line!

The marathon will start bright and early at 7:00AM, with a half marathon following an hour later at 8:00AM. There’s also a 10k or a 5k option, and those will begin at 9:00AM. There will be aid stations stocked with some combination of water, Gatorade, V8 (or similar,) and bananas about every mile for the half and full marathon, starting around mile 3.

The 5k and 10k will also have aid, and most aid stations will have portable bathrooms. You can check out all of the race route information on the website, but rest assured.. if flat is what you want for a race, this might be your event!

The cost of the event is $30 for the 5k, $40 for the 10k, $65 for the Half Marathon, and $110 for the full marathon. All participants will receive a shirt, a finisher medal, and food at the finish line. There are also cash prizes for overall winners. Come check it out!
