Bloom and Zoom at the 2024 Canby Dahlia Run

Who doesn’t love the idea of running among the dahlias in the Fall? Maybe this is the year that the 2024 Canby Dahlia Run 5k/10k should be added to your Fall race calendar.

This year, the event will be held on September 14th and there’s a course change ahead. Swan Island Dahlias, the largest grower of dahlias in the US, is the venue for the race this year. The course is relatively flat and will take place on paved public roads with a small stretch of gravel before finishing on grass pathway through the dahlia fields. Check out the website for route maps.

In previous years, this event featured a half marathon, but race organizers are working their way back up to this post-covid as the event grows.

The cost for the event is $50 for the 5k and $60 for the 10k which is very affordable for a race these days. The event will help fund the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and all participants will receive a tee shirt and finishers medal (both dependent on registration date.) That fee will also cover the cost of parking, (carpooling is strongly encouraged,) post-run snacks, and entry into the Swan Island Dahlia Festival.

There will be one water station along the 10k route, so please plan to pre-hydrate accordingly. The course will close at 11:00AM and each participant will receive a fresh-cut dahlia at the finish!
