Run Like the Dam Wind: ORRC’s Best Dam Run 10K & Half Marathon

With just about a month away, you’ll want to make sure to sign up for the 2024 Best Dam Run 10k/Half Marathon which takes place Saturday, September 14th. This annual race is in it’s last year, and it’s presented by the Oregon Road Runners Club.

This race is a gorgeous Fall event, as it travels along the scenic Clackamas River for most of the route and into downtown Estacada for an epic finish.

Registration for non ORRC members is $54 for the 10k and $64 for the half marathon. All participants will get a pair of custom Fitsock Best Dam Run socks. (Sorry, no medals for this race.)

The half marathon starts at 8:30AM for walkers and 9:00AM for the runners and is a “Z-Fold” style course. The 10k is a point to point course and walkers will depart at 8:45AM and runners will take off with half marathoners at 9:00AM. Both are USATF Certified courses and there are 2 aid stations along the route (one at the start and another at approximately mile 3,) stocked with water, Gatorade, Gu, and some sweety and salty snacks.

Buses will take participants from about 6 miles east of Estacada to the North Fork Lake start. Plan on finding those shuttles on Main and SE Jeremy Loveless Ave starting at 7:00AM, with the last bus leaving at 8:30AM. Walkers should plan on catching the bus as early as possible.

After the race, hang out for some post-race food and the awards, which will take place in the Clackamas River Growlers parking lot and gardens on SE 4th Ave between Broadway and SE Main. As mentioned, this will be the LAST Best Dam Run and participation is capped at 750 entrants, so register today!
