Cap-tivating Style in Fractel Headwear

Matt in the Hat” is a phrase that’s pretty well-known in my work life. It’s a bit of a long story, but it all started because I have this huge hat collection in my office. I’ve got so many hats that I can wear a different one every day for almost two months without repeating. Yeah, I know, it’s a lot of sweet hats.

But that’s not even all of them! I’ve also got a bunch of running hats. You won’t see those in my office or on Zoom calls, though—they’re all stashed in my garage. Just recently, Fractal sent over a bunch of new hats for the summer, which means the “Matt in the Hat” collection is growing even more. Their options are pretty awesome, and with them, you could totally join me in this hat-wearing adventure.

So, what about the name “Fractel“. Here’s more:

Fractel originated from the term ‘fractal’. A fractal can be defined as an infinite pattern and is often used to describe natural features such as trees, rivers and mountains. This connection with the natural environment and potential to be infinitely occurring was the inspiration behind the name. Our logo is the simplest version of a fractal. Starting from a single origin, two branches grow. This principle of endless iterations can be applied to all aspects of life. We want to replicate this theory and show the world that with one idea, anything is possible.

Fractel is a headwear company that produces high-quality hats for individuals who are passionate about an active lifestyle. They recently sent us a couple to try out.

M-Series

Fractel has a few different hat options, but the M-Series is the classic option. There are a ton of colors and styles to choose from. Not all the hats in the M-Series look the same. Some are more of a winter fleece, some are a more standard full coverage, while others, like the GALAXY version received, is super airy. The perforated holes in the top and side panels makes this one extremely lightweight and breathable – as well as comfy with the embedded sweatband. They are an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a high-performance hat that is both stylish and functional.

B-Series

Bucket Hats (hence the “B” in B-Series) seem to be in a bit of a running resurgence in the past few years. Fractel’s Bucket provides a classic style that has been updated for the runner. They come complete with moisture-wicking materials. The brim is wide (duh) and provides sun protection for the face and neck – as does the UPF+50 Recycled mesh panels. The added touches of a sweat-wicking headband and a drawstring that allows you to adjust the fit to your liking.

There are some different options within the series itself. The ZENITH version takes the best of their caps and legionnaire versions and puts them together into one bucket version complete with SWIFTdry technology. Whereas the FLARES version is constructed with a new breathable mesh – AeroLITE – on the cap and in the internal headband which is specifically designed to keep you cool.

R-Series

The R-Series is geared towards racing – meaning function and design are key. Like most all Fractel caps, it is lightweight. It also has sun protection to keep you covered. What pushes this into the racing category is its shallower race fit – a more streamlined option that is actually designed to reduce drag. Add in Italian milled Aero3D fabric, which specializes in moisture management, and you have something ready to handle the speed.

Headbands

Fractel specializes in hats, but there are a few options available for those who don’t go do that route. The KAKADU Edition Headband is perhaps better for colder weather wear with its poly/spandex blend to keep the ears warm. There is also the nice addition of a pony-tail hole at the rear.

All Fractel options are really great for runners. As noted, we really appreciated the lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking construction, making them ideal for use in all kinds of weather conditions. They fit great and operate as we expect from quality headwear.

While there are a variety of running hat companies out there (and we have reviewed a variety of great ones), Fractel really is committed to sustainability, quality, and social responsibility. Their products are working each and every day to be constructed from materials that are eco-friendly. Fractel also is a part of 1% for the Planet – demonstrating their commitment to giving back to society. People who purchase from Fractel can feel good knowing that they are supporting a company that cares.

Summer is here, and that means excess sweat and sun. If you are looking for some new hates to tackle the miles, Fractel is a company that you can feel good about supporting.
