New Year, New Routes at the 2024 Camellia Run

If you haven’t made it to Newberg for the annual Camellia Run, it’s time to get this one on your calendar! I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for small town races and festivals. I’m also a bit of a plant junkie, so for multiple reasons, I recommend this April race!

This well-established event has changed up the courses, so if you have run this race before, make sure to check out the 2024 route map to see what’s new.

Check out our recap of the 2023 event!

The Camellia Run is a well-organized, well-attended small town event. Held in conjunction with the annual Chehalem Park and Recreation District Camellia Festival, you’ll get to check out some pretty cool blooms after you run and you’ll even get to take home your very own Camellia plant (and shirt if you register by March 23.)

The 5K and 10K courses meander around downtown and rural Newberg, giving you a good feel of the quaint vibe Newberg offers. There are always plenty of volunteers, so you’re sure to have someone directing you at most every turn. Intersections are manned by police, so you can run worry free and won’t have to stop and wait for traffic.

Since the starting/finish area is at the Chehalem Cultural Center, that means real bathrooms pre and post-race! And a warm, dry place to wait for start time if needed. After you run through Newberg, stick around and enjoy some of the Camellia festivities. I think you’ll enjoy this bloomin’ event! 😉
