Gallop into Glory: Previewing the Horse Butte 10 Miler in Bend

As spring teases us with a few sunny days, it doesn’t take much to check out the calendar and see a few familiar races. One such favorite is the Horse Butte 10 Miler in Bend, where jorts and western shirts are the race apparel of choice.

For those who have never experienced the iconic 10 mile loop at Horse Ridge, it is a nearly flat, very fast, sweet bit of Central Oregon trail running magic. The loop changes direction each year to keep things fun. My favorite is the counterclockwise loop, but either way it’s beautiful single track for 98% with a short dirt road section at the start/finish.

The race is produced by FootZone in Bend and sponsored by Altra.

Details:

When: Sunday, April 7th, race starts at 9am sharp
