Unraveling the Shenanigans of the Dirty Leprechaun 5k Adventure Race

If you like to get dirty while you run, it’s time to register for the 2024 Dirty Leprechaun 5k which will take place on March 16th, 2024. Terrapin Events sure knows how to put on a great obstacle course race, and this one never disappoints. The best thing about mud runs this time of year is that there is no reason to cart in water to make obstacles extra muddy, the winter rains will take care of that!

The race takes place at The Plumper Pumpkin Patch off Old Cornelius Pass Road in Portland and it is the perfect place for this kind of race course. There are 20 or so obstacles over the 3.1 mile course, and you can see it all listed on the website (which you can view here). This course will consist of challenges such as balance beams, a sandbag carry, mud mounds, angled walls, and agility tires.

There are many things to crawl under, over, and through and there will be absolutely no shortage of mud. All skills are welcome and you will always have the option to skip any obstacles you don’t want to conquer. Join as an individual or as a couple! There’s even a Kid’s Challenge, which is 1 mile long, so there’s truly fun for all!

There are three packages available for the obstacle race, depending on what swag you want.

• Package #1 includes your race entry, bib, a t-shirt, a medal, a pancake breakfast, some delicious s’mores, and a drink.
• Package #2 includes everything previously listed except for the t-shirt and medal.
• Finally, the kids challenge includes race entry, bib, medal, pancake breakfast, s’mores, and a root beer.

New this year is The Combine Challenge (at a cost of $25 prior to race and $35 for registration day of event.) This challenge tests your speed, strength, and endurance and it includes a shuttle run, a sandbag toss, and a stone lift.

Please note that all participants are required to purchase a parking pass or to carpool with someone who has a pass. There will be no off-site parking or shuttle provided and parking will be extremely limited, so carpooling is highly encouraged. Parking passes must be purchased during registration prior to race day and the cost is $30 for one person in the vehicle, $15 for two people, and $10 for three or more people.

There will be free showers and an enclosed changing room at the end so you can get out of those muddy wet clothes, but please plan to bring your own towel, as they will NOT be provided. Also provided at the end of the race is a pancake breakfast as well as beer, cider, seltzer, s’mores, and local vendors as well as a DJ!

There will be NO packet pickup on the day of the race, so please plan to visit Road Runner Sports (Portland location) on Friday March 15^th between 11:00AM and 6:00PM.
