My first impression of the Mastondon Trail Race is a deep appreciation for their estimated “10ish Miles” for the course description. I don’t know about you, but miles on the trails never feel the same length as those on the streets. And my Garmin watch has a whole different number for how far I’ve gone than the markers on the course. So it’s great to just estimate the distance and get out for a run.

FootZone is taking over the race this year after the prior Race Director (Dave Thomason aka SuperDave) decided to shift to a support role. The team is aiming for the same great experience throughout the Maston Trail Network and onto the finish line. The race is intended as a transition experience into spring racing, so enjoy the relatively flat course in a high desert landscape.

The one aid station is at the turnaround point (aka 5ish miles) and will be cupless so participants need to bring their own bottles or vessels. At the finish line, every racer will earn a special finisher prize. Top finishers will also receive special prizes, with everyone eligible for the raffle prizes from sponsors.

Join in a fun (not fun-ish) 10ish miles in the springish weather.
