Do Look Down: 2022 Bridge of the Gods Run (Cascade Locks)

I love a race that takes me somewhere that my regular runs can’t go. And Bridge of the Gods Run is the perfect example of a unique race with the starting line at the Washington edge of a bridge that normally only cars and trucks get to pass over. Lots of pictures get taken in that first mile, and then lots of hills keep you company for the rest of the journey.

After crossing over Bridge of the Gods, 10K and half marathon participants complete and out-and-back course that ends with a picnic celebration in Cascade Locks. Most of the course is on paved trail running alongside the Columbia River. The trail feels like pretty constant small hills so the aid stations every 2.5 miles are critical for continual progress forward. And of course the beautiful medal at the finish line is a well-earned reward.

Sign up for this August journey along the river where taking photos of the Gorge is the perfect excuse to walk some of those hills.
