Race Preview: 2020 Micro Marathon (Lake Oswego)

The word “marathon” is pretty important in running. And it can be pretty overwhelming too. That’s what makes me love the idea of the Micro Marathon happening in Lake Oswego this January. 2.62 miles of un-timed running or walking. And afterward you get to proclaim yourself a marathoner. Boom. Mic Drop.

This particular marathon starts at 10am on Saturday, January 4th in George Rogers Park. It’s an out and back course alongside the Willamette River, with a water station at the turnaround point. It’s a very lowkey event so that more proceeds can go to benefit foster care youth. All profits will go to Howard’s Heart, a local non-profit focused on responding to the wants and needs of these teens. By focusing on tangible needs, the program offers respect and compassion.

Come for the “marathon” and leave knowing you made a real difference.
