Strava Segment of the Week: Hang on one sec … llama grab this segment

Today is the birthday of my dear friend Lynnette, so today I have selected a segment just for her that’s a nice, short incline. “Hang on one sec … llama grab this segment” is just 0.09 miles and runs from NW Reeves Street to NW Cornell on NW Cedar Hills Boulevard. Short and sweet!

The Run Oregon Strava club continues to grow … we are currently at 130 members. This week’s shout-out goes to Steve Webb, whose average pace this week is just about the same as my 10k race pace. Nice work, Steve!

As of February 9, 2018, the course records for the Hang on one sec … llama grab this segment are:

Women’s: Tonya Corkum from June 2016, 40 s

Men’s: Jordan Welling from October 2016, 24 s

So, can you beat their times and become the leader of this segment? You have until Friday, February 23 at noon to try and break the record and see your name in “lights” on Run Oregon! We’ll post a new Segment next Friday at 12.

Strava is an online training and racing log for runners and cyclists. The basic account is free and requires you to create a login. There is also a premium version, but in order to run and record routes as described in this post, you do not need to subscribe to their premium service. Note that this is not sponsored by Strava, nor endorsed or supported in any way by Strava. It’s just a fun thing we’re going to do to give some speedy shout-outs to area runners and pose a challenge to those of you willing to take on their segment.
