Small Race Preview: 2017 Mildred’s Trail Dash 5K & 9K (Oakland)

Singletrack. Oak savannahs. Doug Fir forests. Shade. These features are music to a trail runner’s ears in the summer running months. After the dust has settled from all the 4th of July events, Mildred’s Trail Dash in Oakland, OR offers the perfect getaway run on a beautiful course.

You can pick either the 5k or 9k option and expect some hills and technical terrain. Friends and family can hang out at the new campground and take an easy stroll on the nature trail, while exploring some historic displays around the park.

When: Saturday, July 8, 2017
Time: 8:30 am for both events
Where: Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park Day Use Area | Oakland, OR
Price: 5k: $20 | 9k: $30 (through 6/26). You can register on race day from 7 – 8:15 am for $5 less for each event, but no shirt will be included.

Commemorative t-shit, complimentary Friends of Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park Association membership, and awards.

All proceeds benefit the Friends, which is an all-volunteer organization.

*Note, there may be poison oak on the course, however the race coordinators will be monitoring and trimming the trail prior to the event.
