Race Preview: 2017 Husky Hustle 5K Family Fun Run/Walk (Portland)

You’re not going to want to miss the Hosford Husky Hustle 5K taking place on Sunday May 7th.  The event is held on the tree lined and shady sidewalks of the Ladds Addition Rose Garden and neighborhood in SE Portland.

Being a fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Hosford Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association and the Shu Ren Mandarin Immersion Support Program, you’ll likely see lots of eager and excited kids happy to participate.  The event will also feature a raffle with a plethora of prizes.  Bring a few extra dollars for raffle tickets!  Some of the prizes from 2016 included:  Tickets to the Oregon Symphony; Tickets to OMSI; Tickets to Wild Waves Theme Park; and various gift cards to many great sponsors (such as Foot Traffic; McMenamins pub; Pacific Pies; and more!)

You can check out Joe’s recap of the event last year, which highlights the uniquely geometric course resulting in cool artwork captured by your GPS device.

About Robin York (147 Articles)
Robin grew up as a couch potato and did everything she could to get out of exercise, until one day a good friend would not stop talking about this fun 5k race she was doing. Finally Robin got off the couch and trained for this "fun" race using C25K (couch to 5k program). After crossing that first finish line, she kept going and became a "runner". After losing 80 lbs, gaining health, a love of being active and setting a healthy example for her husband and kids, she thinks she'll stick with this whole "running thing".
