Coach Jim’s free group long run: Saturday, February 18, 2017

20 miles is on the schedule for this Saturday’s free group run with Coach Jim! The run is broken into two loops of about 10 miles each, so those of you training for a spring half marathon will be able to run either loop.

Both loops start from the NW Portland Foot Traffic store at 13306 NW Cornell Rd. The first loop will start at 8a and the second will start when all runners are back from that first loop; around 9:45a.

You will need to bring your own hydration and nutrition. Coach Jim’s routes all include potty stops; this is an amazing chance to test out your race plan for what to eat and drink and when.

Many runners stick around afterwards for a coffee, snack, and chat – if you can’t, be sure to get a snack with some protein in at as soon as possible after your run. Either way, be sure that you have some dry clothes to change into. After 20 miles, your body won’t be as efficient in keeping warm and the dry clothes will be very helpful.
