Warrior Love 5K/10K runs February 4th in Nehalem

The Warrior Love 5K/10K is back for its third year on Saturday, February 4th in Nehalem, Oregon. This run isn’t just a good excuse to escape to the coast, but also raises money for the S.H.E. Warriors, a running club for 4th and 5th grade girls. The club encourages self-confidence and promotes friendships as they train together for local races. The cause is great and the run is equally awesome.

Starting at Nehalem Bay State Park (9500 Sandpiper Lane) at 10:00AM, the course is flat and fast. It takes in a little bit of everything the Oregon coast has to offer, with forested sections of the park and views of the Bay. It is chip timed and there will be awards for the overall male and female winners (1st-3rd) and overall masters. All participants will receive a finisher medal.

After the run, stick around for some coffee, cider or hot chocolate and stay warm with the bonfire. There will be music and snacks at the post race celebration too. Buy raffle tickets at packet pick-up and stick around for some prizes, including $100 cash. Make sure to register early to guarantee a race shirt, they are only guaranteed when registered online. Race shirts cost $10. Day of registration is available at packet pick up, which begins at 8:30AM. Prices also increase January 15th, another reason to register early. If that doesn’t get you motivated, it’s likely to sell out so call your girlfriends and get planning. The Warrior Love Run is a fun excuse to get out of town, a well organized event and supports young ladies, so many reasons to love this run.

Half Marathons and Triathlons are my favorite events and I watch a whole lot of soccer.
