Runners and walkers celebrating at Migration Brewing Co. after the 2nd run in the Oregon Brewery Running Series.

Fortunately for those at the 2nd run in the Oregon Brewery Running Series, Saturday wasn’t as bad as weather forecasts had predicted. It was no balmy fall afternoon, but since this is Oregon and it is October … a little rain and wind won’t hurt any of us. But first, here are some promo codes you can use to save money when you sign up for an upcoming OBS run:

Next on the schedule:

Get a free entry when you sign up with a friend by using code bogo2016. This means if you and a friend both use this code, you can run your 3rd one essentially “free!”

Due to my husband taking a trip up to Alaska (trail running, an airplane tour of glaciers, and fly fishing, the poor guy), I was solo parenting all weekend and unable to make it to this run, but it seemed like another successful run for those who were there. Organizer Nathan Freeburg said that the crew at Migration Brewing Co. were the perfect hosts and that, like last week, it was a good opportunity to spend time with friends or make new ones. He says they are “excited to have two events under our belts now. These runs are so fun, because they combine the casual fun nature of your favorite group run, with the intimacy and communal aspects of hanging out with friends drinking good beer at your favorite brewery. Everyone has a good time, from the people running a sub-20 minute 5K to those walking.”

At this week’s run, participants were treated to live music from The Tumblers, a country band that respects the roots and avoids all of what, in my opinion, makes it hard to listen to the new country music. There was also a raffle again, with prizes from Portland Running Company, Migration Brewing Co., and of course, the Brewery Running Series. And as always, registrations support the Portland Parks Foundation and The Oregon Brewshed Alliance.

Hope to see you next week!
