Blue Lake Runs
The Blue Lake Regional Park in Troutdale is a beautiful site for a run! The park and the lake are a destination by themselves, but when you start a run there, you will also see the mighty Columbia River, and on a clear day there’s a beautiful view of Mount Hood to the east. The 42nd annual Blue Lake Runs take place on Saturday, October 15th, and participants can choose between the 5k run/walk, and the 15k run, which has a two hour time limit (13 min/mile pace).
The 15k run starts first at 10am, and the 5k follows close behind around 10:10 after all 15k runners have left the starting area. Both runs start by winding through the park on paved and gravel trails, then head out of the park for their out-and-back portion on trails along Marine Drive and the Columbia River.
At the finish, participants receive a finisher’s medal, and awards are given to the top finishers overall and in age groups. There are raffle prizes, and a delicious BBQ meal included in your registration.
Blue Lake Park charges a $5 parking fee, so consider carpooling with your friends.
