Race Preview: Cosmo 7K 8/13/16 (Vancouver, Wash.)

Looking for an outstanding way to spend an evening with your girl friends? Look no further than the Energy Events Cosmo 7K all ladies run, occurring Saturday, August 13, 2016 in beautiful downtown Vancouver, Washington. This is a 21+ event. Cosmo 7K's event beneficiary is the Pink Lemonade Project, and a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Fort Vancouver Trust. There are some exciting new twists to this year's event. First, all finishers will receive finisher medal, and the event will not be chip-timed (so you can relax and just enjoy running/walking)! And this year, the start/finish line has moved to the Vancouver Landing Amphitheater (located at 100 Columbia Street in downtown Vancouver). As the start/finish line has moved from Officer's Row to the new downtown location, the race course will also be different from previous years, and will include a large segment of the event occurring along the gorgeous Columbia River. Let's also not forget the tasty cosmos with Three Olives vodka that will be available at the post-race finish line party.

A lot of people ask every year … “Jessica, is that a typo – is this a 7K?” The answer is yes! It is a 7K – this is not a typo!

Lucky number 7, right? A 7K is certainly a unique event distance, no doubt about that! A 7K is ~4.35 miles, so a little over a mile more than a 5K, but close to two miles shorter than a 10K. It really is a great distance, especially for those who are currently training to reach the 10K distance.

The schedule of events for the evening will progress as follows. Packet pick-up and same-day registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the new start/finish line at Vancouver Landing Amphitheater. Gear-check will open at 4:30 p.m. The 7K non-chip timed run/walk will leave the start line at 6 p.m. Those wonderful Three Olives cosmos will begin being poured at 7 p.m., with event awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Your registration fee includes two complimentary cosmos, a Cosmo 7K event martini glass, a women’s specific technical event shirt (if registering before July 30), a goodie bag, post-race snacks, music and great energy!, massage therapists and a vendor expo area. Registration is currently $70 until July 30, with race day registration available for $80. Shirts are not guaranteed after July 30.

Secure your space and make this a ladies night out tradition!
