Race Preview: 2015 Bend Zombie Run

Get ready for this apocalyptic 5K coming to Bend on the evening of October 30th. This Zombies vs. Survivors race is sure to scare you into running faster! Choose your side as either a Zombie or a Survivor and prepare for a spooky-fun adventure to see if you can survive at the Bend Zombie Run.

Survivors will start the 5K ahead of the Zombies with 2 “health flags”, but they must be prepared for a couple of obstacles that will slow them down a bit along the way. Survivors must try to make it to the finish line without losing their flags to the chasing Zombies.  Zombies will start later and will be out for brains (AKA “health flags.”) The goal of the Zombies is to collect as many health flags as they can on their way to the finish line. All participants are encouraged to dress as either a Zombie or Survivor for this race.

Prizes will be given to the top men and women Survivors who finish with their flags and to the Zombies with the most flags that finish soonest. Prizes will also be given out for the best costumes.

This race will benefit Healthy Beginnings. Healthy Beginnings provides accessible physical, developmental and behavioral screenings to children from birth through age five to foster healthy, educated, nurtured children, families and communities.

This race sounds like it will be a lot of fun with some twists and turns sure to surprise the runners along the way. So, get started with your costume planning and register for this fun October race soon!
