As a University of Utah football fan, I was reveling in the 62-20 win in Autzen Stadium earlier this season. But as an Oregonian, I am a rooter for the local teams. AND as a runner, I can appreciate a good themed race that combines running and football – regardless of the allegiance. The Dirty Duck 5k Fan Run & Walk does just that, and is coming to Eugene on Saturday, October 24th.
This event combines has a more unique take on similar color-themed runs. There will be four color stations, but will ONLY be yellow and green. There will also be a “feathering station”, where runners will be pummeled with green, yellow and white feathers. You will really leave looking like a true duck.

The course will meander through campus and participants will get to see all the university has to offer. There will be two water stations and the after-party will feature a spread with standard race faire. An after-party at the Wild Duck Cafe will be rocking.
There are sure to be surprises along the way, but it’s always more fun that way. What isn’t a secret is how flocking with other ducks will feel during and after the event. Strollers and kids under 5 are free and 14-under are only $15.
