The World’s Largest Shortcake; strawberry shortcake large enough to feed 15,000 people. Running along the parade route, being cheered on by jovial folks waiting for the 106th Strawberry Festival parade to begin. Getting to do all this while supporting the Lebanon Cross Country Team. Costume contest (come on costumed runners!).

Please join Run Oregon (I’ll be running and sticking around for the parade!) at the 106th Strawberry Festival 5k run/walk and 1 mile walk/kid’s run on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in delightful Lebanon, Oregon. Lebanon is just east of Corvallis, a short drive from Salem or Eugene.
The entry fee, currently $15 for the 5k, and $5 for the 1-mile before May 24, supports the Lebanon High School’s Cross Country Team. The running and walking events will occur prior to the Strawberry Festival Parade, leaving participants time to participate in the event of their choice, and be able to watch the parade! Yippee!!!
I’m pleased the report the 5k route has been nationally certified. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k event. Also, there will be age group awards for the 5k. All participants will be eligible for door prize drawings, which will be posted at the end of the race (must be present to win). And, make sure to bring the kids, as those participating in either the 5k run/walk or 1-mile walk will receive a ribbon, and they will also be eligible for prizes in the 1-mile event. Race day registration is available at the start/finish location, which will be at the American Legion, located at 480 Main Street in downtown Lebanon.
Let’s not forget the costume contest! Love seeing the costumed runners on courses!! This year’s festival theme is “Strawberry All Stars”. Prizes will be given to the best costumes that cross the finish line in the 1 mile and 5k events.
