Race preview: Team Up for Students 5k

This is a race for those of you with little ones at home that have a hard time finding a sitter so you can get to morning races. That’s because the Team Up for Students 5k is offering free child care for kiddos age 1-4 during the event!

In addition, this is a great low-cost event. Registration is $20 for individuals, but if you sign up with anyone else in your family, they’ll pay only $5. So if you sign yourself up, and your spouse and two kids, it’s only $35 total. That works out to less than $10 per person.

You can also create a team, for which costumes and fun names are encouraged. All proceeds from this event will raise funds for classroom materials at Washington County Schools. This year’s event will support Cornelius Elementary in Forest Grove.

The race will be run on the streets of Cornelius, Oregon; the start/finish will be at Echo Shaw Elementary. Participants will be able to use the school’s restrooms prior to the race and after they finish, so there’s no need to hold your breath and use a porta-potty.

There will be one aid station on course stocked with water; both runners and walkers are welcome at this event.

When: Saturday, May 16, 2015
Where: Echo Shaw Elementary at 914 S. Linden St. in Cornelius
